Okay, I think this track wins on originality. @_@ Not sure what I just listened to, but it was different alright. Then again, the art paired with it is too, however I don't quite think they're the same kind of different...
Composition wise, this track is all over the place and kind of just keeps on meandering about. For something of 6 minutes length, it manages pretty well to not be boring. However the sounds are a tad harsh... and 6 minutes of that leaves the listener needing a serious break.
Very trippy and.... wut. o.o

Firstly, rating this with 5 stars for IA. More people need to know about her amazing voice!

Anyways...
I have to say there are a few mixing issues here, but nothing gamebreaking. Composition does leave room for improvement as I felt that the track became a bit repetitive. I also kind of wish there was more of IA. A bit more variation over would help. As far as fitting to the art paired with it, the track sounded way too full for what is an empty scenery in the art. Still, a pretty solid track!

This is a very interesting piece with a nice backstory to it. Paired with the art, I think it works well! The composition is nice and I like how it works well with your story. Stays interesting and fresh. I was honestly anticipating something darker for the reveal part, but the direction you took also works. Great job!

The track has a solid beat and a decent melody, however this feels somewhat slapped together as it gets repetitive and lacks dynamics or variation. The sound is decent, no big mixing issues. It fits the art paired with it somewhat alright, although I think you could have done better.

DESHIEL responds:

I'm glad that the track fits the art, that was my goal after all.

About the lack of variation, I shall blame it on the same thing that I did with the cnyght hunter track.
After I "tweaked" everything to sound kwool I was too lazy to be inovative, because new melodies often require a brand new mastering and I wasl ike D; oh noo. So I actualy ended up scraping lots of melodies that didn't make it into the final version.

Welp! Peter Satera whooping some butt with this track. xD Let's see here...
Mixing is solid. Everything sounds great! Didn't really expect different. Composition is very solid. Great dynamics, and great structure to keep things constantly interesting. The track fits the art paired with it very well, and I like how you mixed orchestral with electronic elements to get the feel across. In terms of originality, it sounds fairly standard in the cinematic trailer genre though. Still very well done!

This track is pretty standard when it comes to its genre, and as such it lacks in originality. It does fit the art paired with it somewhat, although I think it'd be nice if you had used a solo flute and a solo violin in it. Composition is pretty standard, so it doesn't get boring or outstay its welcome, yet I think you could have made it longer. Sound-wise, I think you can work on the mixing more. The sounds are muddy and there is clashing in the frequencies between the instruments.

PascalPalomino responds:

Thanks for this comment. I would have like to use a solo violin and a solo flute but I am a bit limited with what I have. I would have like also a vibraphone for the arpegiation in the background. I did have a lot of probleme making this piece and it's not my favorite but I really enjoyed doing it though. Thanks again and I will work on my mixing.

This track is pretty decent, however there's nothing that makes it stand out either in originality or composition. It does get slightly repetitive after a while though. Considering the art paired with it, it does fit decently well.

anthonyloprimo responds:

Well, quite a few people seem to feel that it fits the picture so... Yay for that! :D

But I do agree with you about the repetition. I failed hard at getting it to sound awesome so I kind of ended up leaving it as is. It really sucked but after a while I just gave it a rest, and never did manager to find something that worked. Out of curiosity, what might you suggest I could add to give it a bit more oomph to it? If anything, I can try to take what I've learned from this and the feedback and place it into the next major song I'm working on.

Sound: There are mixing issues abound here, along with quite few things you can do to expand your sound and make it sound more epic.

Composition: The composition style is pretty straightforward, yet that also makes it slightly repetitive. Percussion needs major work as right now it's pretty flat and sounds like a machine drumming and not... live. The build to the end is weak unfortunately and needs work.

Fit to Art: The track fits decently well, although I think it lacks a general battle drive to it. Then again, the art doesn't depict the battle, so it's alright.

Originality: Nothing new here.

Mawnz responds:

Oh, thank you for the review! Sound quality (mixing and stuffzz) and expanding the sound is something I'm really struggling with, and I basically agree with everything you've said here. I did'nt really feel where the song was going so I kind of tried to build it up towards the end, but even that wasn't really strong enough. Orchestral is new to me as well, but making it is fun so I'll take your review with me for future songs ^^

Thanks again!

Sound: Very simple, so there's not much to go wrong here. xD

Composition: This is a very interesting composition. Somewhat odd at some parts although slightly repetitive at other parts. Very simple too, which actually works well for the song.

Fit to Art: A very unreal and pensive take on the piece, almost like someone lost deep in thought. Definitely fitting.

Originality: The track on its own doesn't sound too original or unique, although paired with the art it is quite interesting.

motakay responds:

Thanks! Great feed-back. :)

Sound: Sounds great!

Composition: Even if this song was a stand alone song, this track is excellent! I personally love how it was written and the lyrics to it.

Fit to Art: I think this piece really does fit the art paired with it really well. The lyrics convey very well the feel of the piece, and so does the overall vocal sound. Great job!

Originality: The track itself garners points for having lyrics written out that. However it's not a particularly novel sounding track either. Still no loss here!
